Terms & Disclaimer

The honest version of what you're buying and what it can and can't do.

The one thing that matters most. A KitchenKit Atlas report is research, not an inspection. It tells you about a machine's model — its age, known failure patterns, parts availability, and fair market price — using manufacturer data, public listings, and the details you give us. It cannot tell you the true condition of the specific unit in front of you: its compressor health, refrigerant charge, scale, or electrical safety. Only a hands-on inspection by a qualified refrigeration technician can. We'll tell you when that's the right next step, and for an expensive machine it usually is. The final decision to buy, and at what price, is yours.

What our reports are

We sell Reality Checks, Model Dossiers, and Listing Reports on used commercial ice machines. Each is an informational research document assembled from manufacturer specifications, service literature, public parts catalogs, marketplace listings, and the information you provide (such as a listing URL, photos, and what the seller told you).

What our reports are not

  • Not an appraisal. Price ranges are market estimates, not certified valuations.
  • Not an inspection. We do not see, touch, test, or operate the machine. We assess the model, not the individual unit's condition.
  • Not a warranty or guarantee. We do not guarantee the machine's condition, performance, safety, or that it will work.
  • Not professional advice. Nothing in a report is legal, financial, or licensed engineering advice.
  • Not a substitute for a technician. For any machine where condition or safety matters — which is most of them — a qualified technician's inspection is the authority, not our report.

About the information we use

We work in good faith from sources we believe are reliable, and we link them so you can check our work. But prices, availability, listings, and manufacturer information change constantly and can contain errors. Figures we give — fair-price ranges, part prices, freight, and service-cost estimates — are estimates as of the date of the report and are not guaranteed. Seller claims we relay or assess are the seller's, not ours.

Delivery and refunds

Reports are delivered by email — Reality Checks within the hour during service hours (9am–9pm ET), Listing Reports within 24 hours (2 hours with Rush). If a report doesn't meet your needs, email hello@kitchenkitatlas.com and we'll refund you in full. We may decline or refund an order that falls outside what we cover (for example, unbranded import machines with no parts or service ecosystem).

Your responsibilities

  • Give us accurate information. A report is only as good as the listing, photos, and details you provide.
  • Verify anything that matters before you buy — especially by getting a data-plate photo, a full-cycle video, and a technician's inspection where warranted.
  • Make your own purchase decision. We give you better information; we don't make the call.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KitchenKit Atlas is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of a report or your purchase decision, including the condition, cost, or performance of any machine you buy or decline to buy. Our total liability for any claim relating to a report is limited to the amount you paid us for that report. Reports are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

No affiliation

We are independent. KitchenKit Atlas is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Hoshizaki, Manitowoc, Scotsman, Ice-O-Matic, or any other manufacturer, dealer, marketplace, or seller. Brand and model names are used only to identify equipment.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the effective date above shows the current version.
